Retaining Walls – Commercial Projects

Paekakariki Hill Road  Gully

Porirua City Council engaged us to repair a slip on Paekakariki Hill where the road had given way on a section above a stream. A combination of driven railway irons along with drilled and grouted anchors were used to carry out this repair. It was successfully completed with minimal disturbance to road traffic during construction.

73 Fairlie Terrace

A job that was requested by Victoria University. The current block retaining wall had begun to collapse and lean towards the property below the road. One major consideration of the project were the 33 kv electrical cables that ran below the road parallel to the old wall and supplied one third of Wellingtons electricity. Wellington Electricity was met with and a construction methodology which included the protection and retention of the cables was completed. Following this methodology the project was successfully completed, on time and on budget.

Hataitai North Vodafone RBI Upgrade

This was a job for Vodafone. We had to temporarily disconnect the cabinet and have it removed by crane, breaking out the existing timber retaining wall and concrete pad, all the while protecting the cables and ducts. We when built a new larger institute concrete pad and retaining wall, and had the site back on line in five days.
